BETI BACHAO ABHIYAAN

GREEN PALE LEAVES

GREEN PALE LEAVES
Glorify them
Go near them
And compliment them.
They are green
Even on the thorny sprigs.
They are green
Irrespective of their age
Young or middle aged.
They occupy
Only that much space
Which was allotted?
To them initially
The more you
Converse with them
The more greener
They become.
They retain their green hue
Had they been pale, no matter.
They provide me peace of mind
And I reciprocate.

MISTAKE

You were
Destined to be line
On my palm.
God, mistakenly
Drew it, on palm of
Some body else.

Penance of this  mistake
Of God, God knows
We will bear
For how many
Life spans.

WANDERING CLOUD

Pleased to share with Bengali Translation of my poem in English WANDERING
CLOUD. Presented for you alongwith my Original Poem
Wandering Cloud
by Rajni Chabra
translated in Bengali by Subir Majumder.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
রোদ ঝলসানো উঠোন ‘পরে
বইত পূবের হাওয়া। 25/10/2016
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Wandering Cloud
A wandering cloud
That had halted
In my courtyard
For a while
Showering
Protective affection
With its blissful shade
God only knows
Where had it been swayed
By merciless
Winds of Time.
A pang stirs my mind
Oh that I could own
A fistful sky
To grab that cloud
Instead of scorched courtyard
I would have breathed
Sandal smeared breeze
In my abode.

GYPSY MIND/

Gypsy Mind
Moving on pathway of life
Suddenly,
Comes across
Favorite travel mate

We secretly
Cherish a wish
Let this journey
Never accomplish
May each moment
Turn into an epoch
And journey continues
Epoch after epoch

(A translated work of Rajni Chhabra's poem GYPSY MIND) by Subir Majumder

INTRODUCTION

After admission in school
On first day in class
Teacher instructed
Each and every child
To give self introduction.

Children ,standing
Started giving introduction individually.
My father is doctor.
Mine is clerk.
Mine is shopkeeper.
Mine teacher.

In whole class
Two children
Were hesitating in telling
Occupation of their father.
Out of these
Father of one was cobbler
And of the other one
A peon.

And the next day
Both the children
Did not attend the school.

(A translated work of Rajni Chhabra's poem MUSK DEER)
MUSK DEER
Enwrapping scent of musk
In himself
Confused was wandering
Musk deer
Ocean of happiness
Confined within himself
Was moving betrayed
In all the four directions

Integrity, solidarity and prosperity
Were the keywords, occupying your mind
When you were framing the constitution of India.
We are basking in the dense shade of
Your blissful, mature thoughts.
Downtrodden could get redress coz
You were our inspiration on the path of progress.
We are heartily obliged to you

ARE YOU LISTENING? MAA

Hi!friends, sharing with you my favourite poem, composed by me both in Hindi and English and translated into Bengali by reputed poet Shyamal Kumar Majumder from Bangladesh. I wish this poem to be translated in as many languages in the whole world as possible. Support from translators world wide will be held in great esteem by me.

==================

ARE YOU LISTENING? MAA

Maa! You often used to ask me
Babli, why are you so silent
Usher something
Give vent to your thought
Knock at the door of mind
Open it with sound of your words.
I am vocal now
But you are not here
To listen me.
Caravan of thoughts
That you left behind
In my mind
I promise you
To let it move
On and on

Viewing your glimpse
In whole Universe.
I will pen-craft
Spontaneous flow of
My thoughts
Like a stream of pure water. My silence has vocalized.
But, are you listening Maa?

RAJNI CHHABRA

IN YOUR FOND MEMORY

How many chirpers were sheltered
Might the shredder of these trees ever have pondered.

In moments of sadness, absorbed in thoughts
Eyes might have shed tears of blood.

He won't be scared of you, O! Life
Who might have played in the lap of death, day n night

Ordeals of life will seem easy to him
Who might have known art of living in all phases.

How he has littered lamps of tears
Might have been solitary in the deep darkness of night.

Whom throbbing heart has recalled again
Might have yearned once missing me.

How scared heavens become by heaves of destitute
O! Life, you might have seen in all walks of life.

No friends, no chums, no consanguinity
Only a custom that we have to observe.

Lest darkness envelopes the whole world
Lamps will have to be sheltered from stormy winds.

You will miss groves of villages
When your body might be scorched in city.

Whenever my memories would have sprouted
She might have viewed mirror very minutely.

FREEDOM

 Nobody visualizes
Shattered dreams of queen
In the boundaries of palace
Often food is not available
In plate of gold
Flowing tears are
In habit of
Drying automatically

There is no
Jungle of concrete
For a winged creature
Nest of straws suffices
For stretching wings.

I SURRENDER MYSELF

I SURRENDER MYSELF

Tree
Surrenders
Its leaves
Fresh leaves
Flourish

I surrender
Myself
And attain
A new life.

MY CRAVING

In thicket
In herbary
You remain
My sappy spring.

In flowers
You only
Fill nectar.

You are
Incarnation of
Honey-bee.

I want
To be on wings
Craving for
Your creation.

SPARROW

Sparrow
Picking straws
One after another
Built a nest
On tree's
Highest branch
Lined it
With cotton
Laid egg
Hatched it
Discharged her duty
Got released
From
Debt of birth

The poem  'SPARROW' has been translated from SIMRAN, a collection of Rajasthani poems, by Santosh Mayamohan and with her consent translated into English by myself

I AM CREEPER

In thicket
In herbary
You remain

In flowers
You only

You are

I want
To be on wings
Craving for
Your creation.

WAX

Along with wick
Burns
Melts
Wax.

Mute flame
Nods head
In refutation
Under spell of wind
And
In the process
Of negation
Exhausts.

RECALL

Lying empty
Are your
All the seven chambers
From Sunday
To Saturday
Because
In each and
Every chamber
You leave impressions of
Kumkum smeared feet

Without stopping
Move away
On your
Further journey

My only
Treasure is
Recall of your
Rising and setting.

THE SUN ON PAPER

THE SUN ON PAPER
 The Sun scribbled on paper
Can not diffuse light
On the whole world
Just gives an apprehension of

Getting enlightened.
We have to arise
On our own Horizon
A glowing Sun.
So, for the time being
Scribbling The Sun on paper
To keep kindling
The notion of arising the Sun

SHE MAKES ME OCEAN

She has lost appetite
Coz I have not eaten
She is restless
Coz I am perturbed
She is sleepless
Coz I am sleep deprived
She retains a cool mind
Coz I am quick tempered
She worries persistently
Coz I never worry
She bears burden of relations
That I have assigned to her
In lieu of wedding knot
Leaving behind her kith and kins
She accepts my relatives
As her own near and dear ones
Sacrificing her identity
She mingles in me
Like a river
Making me ocean.

THE HOME MISSES US TOO

THE HOME MISSES US TOO

When we are away from home
Not only members of our home
Our home too waits for us
Though all the articles are lifeless
These miss our touch.

When we arrive back home
After a long gap
Threshold of our home
Doors and windows
Seem to be smiling
As if extending
Warm welcome to us
Sitting in courtyard
Sipping tea
In every sip
Happiness of cup
Seems poured.
In plate, vegetables and roti
Cooked and served by mother
Seem to be swaying with joy
On our arrival.
In dense night
When we go to sleep
Cot of our home seems
To be giggling
While lulling us to sleep.
Ceiling of room seems to cast
Its unblinking eyes on me all through the night.

GAMLE KA POUDHA/ A PLANT IN VASE

He can flourish only
To the extent of soil
That he has in the vase
He can nurture only
That much foliage as
The space that he is
Bestowed with.
Is just like other plants
Lush green
Laiden with flowers
But is not able
To fructify
Has this helplessness of plant
Been imparted to him
By his beautiful looks
Or was there
A dream of thicket
Visualized by my eyes.

Originally composed in Hindi by Om Purohit ji ओम पुरोहित कागद and translated by me into English with his permission
We kept on flowing like water
You kept on rolling like stone
We kept on shrinking like river
You kept on acquiring shape
You were incarnated in temple
And clouds swayed us along with
You did not pour
Though you were God
We poured and
Became water again.

How are you?

A POEM TRANSLATED FROM AKANKSHA

This dreamy life is

Bouquet of aspirations.

Our life vibrates

With  aspirations

We scribble

Those dreamy moments

With outlines of reveries

Aspirations make life alive

Honey smeared and active

Aspirations of infancy, youth

And other life long aspirations

Make float

Boat of our life.

●MY DREAM IN YOUR EYES

We moved together
Side by side
Beholding the Universe simultaneously
Visualized the ways of world.
But our minds are distinct
Obviously your perception
Will vary from mine.

You kept on inquiring
My well being
I was never free from
Accomplishing my dreams.
And nurturing my family.

You are mum today
Holding darkness
In recesses of
Your mind.
Your vision has dimmed
What happened to your dreams
Let me search in your eyes.
Your dreams that could not mature.
But, I am aghast on my findings/
Your eyes are dreaming only me.
